One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral and Dot Decorations, Stamped “B.C. MILBURN / ALEXA,” VA origin, circa 1855, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder and squared rim, decorated with a brushed cobalt floral design on the front. Shoulder decorated around circumference of jar with cobalt swags and rim decorated with an unusual series of brushed cobalt spots. Cracks on underside and at base, continuing several inches up body of jar in a few places. This damage is mostly visible on the reverse. Rim chips and a few small base chips.
