Scarce One-Gallon Cincinnati, Ohio Stenciled Stoneware Pitcher, fourth quarter 19th century, ovoid pitcher with tall flaring collar, decorated with stenciled cobalt inscription "JAS. BENJAMIN, / WHOLESALE / STONEWARE / DEPOT / No. 14 WATER ST. / CINCINNATI, O." Unusual form for this maker. Old paint removed from surface. A few chips to interior of spout area. Otherwise excellent condition.
