Price Realized: $373.75 ($325 hammer, plus 15% buyer's premium).
Four-Gallon Palatine, WV Stoneware Jar, circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, featuring the firm name "KNOTTS, SWINDLER & CO / PALATINE, W. VA" in cobalt, along with a brushed stripe below the rim and at the base. Reverse-stenciled "4" at base. In-the-firing separations and a chip at base. 2" x 1 1/4" glazed-over stone ping on reverse.
