Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "D. ROBERTS / UTICA, NY," circa 1830, highly ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, flared rim, and large lug handles, decorated with brushed spitting tulip extending from a curved stem. Maker's mark impressed in large letters under one handle. 2 1/2" poorly-restored rim chip. 1 1/2" rim chip. Additional very minor wear on exterior of rim. Minor nicks to interior of rim where a lid would rest. Some discoloration and staining to surface. Small stone ping on underside.
