Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1825, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, applied tab handles, and semi-squared rim, profusely-decorated with a flowering vine design extending completely around the body of the jar. Unusual cobalt stripe brushed along the edge of each handle. Two chips to one handle. Several base chips. A few contact marks to one side. Some dryness to surface to shoulder of opposite side. Some hairlines extending up from base. H 12".
