Fine Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1825, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, rounded rim, and applied tab handles, decorated completely around with a brushed cobalt tulip design. Excellent color and decoration. An exceptionally thin-walled example. Heavy chipping to base, including a 2" flake to underside. Small chip to one handle. H 12".
