Rare Six-Gallon Stoneware Water Cooler with Profuse Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1830, ovoid cooler with circular bung hole, tooled shoulder, and tall cylindrical collar, decorated with a large flowering plant extending from the bung hole to the shoulder, along with an additional flower on each side. Excellent form and decoration. Missing both handles. A few rim chips. 3" and 1 3/4" hairline from rim on reverse. 2 1/4" hairline from rim on front. 11" crack extending diagonally from base on reverse. Contact mark on front. Small chips to bunghole. Large Y-shaped hairline on underside. H 17".
