Outstanding Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt House Decoration, Stamped "HAXSTUN & CO. / FORT EDWARD, N.Y.," circa 1880, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a folky slip-trailed design of a three-story with six windows, a door with dormer, and three chimney billowing with smoke. House is situated on a lawn with large tree to the right. Excellent and visually-striking decoration. Small stone ping to base. One handle chip. Some light flaking to base under left handle. Some minor chips on interior of rim, a shallow 5/8" chip on top of rim, and a second 5/8" rim chip on reverse. H 11 1/4".
