Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "WEST TROY. / POTTERY," New York State origin, circa 1875, cylindrical jug with squared spout, decorated with a large slip-trailed cobalt bird with crest. Provenance: Purchased from prominent collector Bill Grande in the parking lot of Bennington auction in 1993. As-made condition with some light fry to cobalt. H 14 1/4".
