Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "RIEDINGER & CAIRE / POUGHKEEPSIE, NY," circa 1860, cylindrical jug with squared spout, decorated with a large slip-trailed cobalt design of long-tailed bird perched on a stylized branch. Excellent color and large decoration. Professional restoration to handle. Several small base chips. Faint line at base. Small shallow chip to spout to left of handle. H 14 1/2".
