Scarce Six-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Dog Holding Basket Decoration, Stamped "S. HART / FULTON," New York State origin, circa 1860, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, rounded rim, and lug handles, decorated with a large slip-trailed standing dog holding a basket in its mouth. Dog features a curled tail and heavy striped and spotted slip-trailing. Stylized ground below features looping lines and slashes. Significant restoration to cracks, with some touch-up to decoration. A few chips on rim interior. H 13".
