Three-Gallon Double-Handled Stoneware Jug, Stamped "J.D. CRAVEN," Randolph and Moore Counties, NC, circa 1870, tall ovoid jug with tooled spout and wide strap handles, one side coggled with a large number "3". Shoulder impressed with maker's mark of Jacob Dorris Craven. A fine example of this notable Southern potter's work. Thin crack in one handle. Small base chip. H 16 3/4".
