Stoneware Canning Jar, Stenciled "RICHEY & HAMILTON / PALATINE. / W.VA.," circa 1875, cylindrical jar with flared "wax sealer" rim, decorated with a stenciled central flower head design along with numerous groups of stenciled dots representing grapes or flower blossoms. Unusual decoration. Provenance: From a Western MD collection. Base chip. Tiny nick to interior of rim. H 8 1/8".
