Salt-Glazed Stoneware Jar with Incised Bird Decoration, Northeastern U.S. origin, circa 1840, approximately two-gallon cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, decorated with an incised ring-necked bird with heavy feather detail. Heavy flaking near base. Two large stone-pings and a few smaller stone pings. Smalla base chip and two larger base chips, measuring 1 3/4" and 1/2". Crazing to rim. Hairlines at base. H 14".
