Scarce One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Game Bird Decoration, Stamped "WEST TROY / N.Y. / POTTERY," circa 1870, cylindrical jug with tooled spout, decorated with a slip-trailed cobalt game bird with crest, ringed neck, and fattened body, perched on a stylized ground with shrubs. Desirable small size with unusual figural decoration. Provenance: Lynn White Collection, Readfield, ME. Excellent condition with a small spout chip and minor wear on interior of spout. H 11".
