Scarce Half-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, New York State origin, third quarter 19th century, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and flaring rim, decorated with a brushed cobalt foliate design, underscored by the fraction "1/2". Provenance: Lynn White Collection, Readfield, ME. Two small rim chips and a minor rim nick. Chips to ledge on interior where a lid would rest. 3 1/4" hairline on reverse. H 7 1/2".
