Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Double Bird Decoration, Stamped "S. HART / FULTON," New York State origin, circa 1860, ovoid jug with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a slip-trailed cobalt design of crossed birds accented with spots. Provenance: Lynn White Collection, Readfield, ME. Spots of fry to cobalt. Shallow base chip on reverse. Shallow spout chip. H 12 1/2".
