One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "WHITES UTICA," NY State origin, circa 1870, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder, tall collar, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed cobalt design of a bird with large crest and striped body. Handles have original holes to allow for a metal bail handle. Stone ping on top of rim. 3" crack from rim above one handle. 4" and 2" hairlines from rim on front. H 11".
