One-Gallon Salt-Glazed Stoneware Jug, Stamped "JOHN BELL / WAYNESBORO," PA origin, circa 1865, cylindrical jug with rounded spout and applied handle, impressed with John Bell mark along with a one-gallon capacity mark on shoulder. Dryness to surface. Glazed-over 1" chip to base. Inverted Y-shaped hairline, extending 6 1/4" from spout. H 11 1/4".
