Glazed Redware Jar with Exceptional Color, probably New England, possibly Gonic, NH, second quarter 19th century, cylindrical jar with tooled foot, tapered shoulder and semi-rounded rim, profusely-decorated with two rows of vertical manganese sponging around the body and additional sponging around the shoulder. Decoration applied over a colorful olive and orange-spotted ground. Small base chips. A chip and spots of wear to top edge and interior of rim. H 10 1/4".
