Scarce Half-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stamped "C. CROLIUS / MANUFACTURER / MANHATTAN-WELLS / NEW-YORK," early 19th century, ovoid jug with heavily-tooled neck and ribbed handle, decorated with brushed cobalt dashes surrounding the makers mark. Desirable size and maker. Spout chips. Base chips, including a shallow 1 1/4" off underside at edge. Firing flaws to surface. 1 1/2" lightly exfoliated area to left side of jug. Restored 1" hole in underside. H 9 1/2".
