Rare Southern Stoneware Carafe and Tumbler Set, Stamped "BROWN POTTERY," Arden, NC origin, second quarter 20th century, the vase-shaped carafe and cylindrical tumbler both of reddish vitrified clay, the interiors glazed with Albany slip. Both impressed "BROWN POTTERY" in small letters on the underside. Carafe additionally incised "40" on underside. Carafe in near mint condition with minor wear to exterior of rim. Tumbler in near mint condition with a minor stone ping to shoulder and two minor rim nicks. H (of carafe) 11 7/8" ; H (of tumbler) 4".
