Stoneware Canning Jar, Stenciled "KNOTTS, SWINDLER & CO / PALATINE, WVA," circa 1875, cylindrical jar with rounded "wax sealer" rim, decorated with the bold stenciling "KNOTTS, SWINDLER & CO / PALATINE, WVA" extending around the body of the vessel. Excellent color. Near mint condition with a shallow rim chip. H 8 1/4". H 8".
