Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1830, thin-walled ovoid jar with rounded rim, tooled shoulder, and applied tab handles, decorated with a cobalt tulip design, which extends completely around the midsection. Front and back shoulder decorated with additional tulips, cobalt wavy line under each handle, and a cobalt stripe around base. Heavy chipping to base. Chip to one handle. H 13 3/4".
