Very Rare Small-Sized Stoneware Presentation Pitcher, Incised "M.A. Byrnes," Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1860, approximately one-quart pitcher with ovoid body, tall collar, and applied strap handle, the body decorated with a cobalt flowering vine design, below the incised and cobalt-highlighted name "M.A. Byrnes." Spout decorated with cobalt swags and dashes. Presentation stoneware from Baltimore is extremely rare. Desirable form and size. 1" flake to rim. Minor chip to underside. Faint line in underside, extending 2" up reverse of pitcher. H 7 3/8".
