Half-Gallon Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "C.F. HETZEL & CO. / CUMBERLAND, MD," Greensboro, PA origin, circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, decorated with Hetzel stenciling flanked by two small leaves. Unusually small size. Dryness and discoloration to surface. Small chips to rim. Small chip to shoulder molding. Stone ping on reverse with 6 1/4" crack extending through it. Meandering hairlines near base. H 8 1/4".
