One-Gallon Stripe-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "Jas. Hamilton / & Co. / Greensboro / Pa.," circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and rounded rim, decorated with three large cobalt stripes and Hamilton maker's stenciling. Excellent color. Provenance: Tom McCandless Collection, Hopewell, NJ. Jar was converted into a lamp at one point. Hairline on underside forming a Y at base. H 9 1/2".
