Large-Sized Stoneware Canning Jar, Stenciled "A. CONRAD / NEW GENEVA / PA," circa 1875, tapered jar with tooled shoulder and large rounded rim with wax sealer interior, the front decorated with maker's stenciling surrounding a stenciled flourish and a thick cobalt stripe below the rim. Provenance: Tom McCandless Collection, Hopewell, NJ. Small glazed-over stone ping on shoulder and glazed-over dent at base. 1 1/4" hairline on underside, extending onto base where it forms a 3" Y. Small chips to inner rim. H 10".
