Ten-Gallon A.P Donaghho, Parkersburg, WV Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Eagle Decoration, circa 1880, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder and applied lug handles, decorated with a stenciled eagle holding banner, which reads "EXCESIOR POTTERY". Stenciled "10" within an elaborate border at base. A fine example of Donaghho stoneware. Provenance: Tom McCandless Collection, Hopewell, NJ. Excellent condition with a handle chip and a minor 4" Y-shaped line near base, which does not extend through to the interior. H 20".
