Squat-Shaped Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Decoration, Stamped "C. CROLIUS / MANUFACTURER / NEW-YORK," circa 1830, approximately one-gallon, nicely-formed ovoid jug with tooled neck and rounded spout, decorated with a brushed cobalt scalloped line design under an oval-shaped Clarkson Crolius, Jr. mark. Provenance: Sanford Smith, New York, New York. Excellent condition with a 7/8" contact mark on left side of jug and a small spout chip. H 10 3/4".
