One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1825, ovoid jar with tall collar and large tab handles, the front and back decorated with several cobalt tulips blossoming from a leafy stem. Large 1 1/2 gallon capacity mark under one handle, circled in a thick brushstroke of cobalt. Brushed cobalt swags under opposite handle. 1 3/4" loss to one handle and a chip to opposite end of same handle. Chip to end of other handle. 3 1/2" salt drip under one handle. 4" hairline from rim. H 11 1/4".
