Half-Gallon Ovoid Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Decoration, attributed to the Remmey Pottery, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1865, small-sized, rotund jar with tooled shoulder and semi-squared rim, decorated completely around with a series of brushed cobalt swags with outwardly-curling strokes. Desirable form. 1" base chip and two small base chips. Chip on exterior of rim and minor chips on interior of rim. H 7 1/4".
