Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "EVAN R. JONES / PITTSTON, PA," circa 1875, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed cobalt design of a stem bearing numerous leaves and a hanging dotted blossom. Small handle chip. A few chips to interior of rim. Vertical 8" line on front of crock, which does not extend through to interior. 2" line under one handle. 3" Y-shaped line near base on front, which does not extend through to interior. 2" line under one handle, which does not extend through to interior. Additional lines at base, which occurred in the firing. Small handle chip. H 11 1/2".
