Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Large Cobalt Grapes Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG, PA," circa 1865, ovoid jug with semi-squared spout and applied handle, decorated with a large cobalt grape cluster embellished with leaves and corkscrewing vines. Desirable decoration with strong color. In-the-firing, glazed-over base chip on reverse. Staining around base. A few small spout nicks, which appear to be in the making. H 13 1/2".
