Rare Half-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1870, cylindrical jug with rounded shoulder and thick spout, decorated with V-shaped swags on the front and side, a large brushed X on the opposite side, and a leaf on the reverse. Remmey jugs are very difficult-to-find with cobalt decoration. As-made condition with a thin stone ping below the handle on reverse. H 9".
