Westerwald Stoneware "GR" Jug with Incised Decoration, German origin, circa 1770, bulbous jug with heavily-tooled collar, decorated with incised flower petals surrounding an applied "GR" medallion. Incised teardrop-shaped designs to the left and right. Decoration highlighted in cobalt slip. Collar decorated with manganese slip. Incised "6" on side of jug. Some hairlines in base and underside. Horizontal hairline at base of collar and a few hairlines extending down from rim. H 6 1/2".
