Rare Six-Gallon Stoneware Churn with Elaborate Running Deer Decoration, Stamped "F. WOODWORTH / BURLINGTON, VT.," circa 1875, semi-ovoid churn with tooled shoulder and applied lug handles, decorated with a large slip-trailed design of a running stag with spotted body and turned head, two trees in the distance, and shrubs and ground below. An impressive, large-sized figural decoration. Includes antique wooden dasher. Provenance: From a consignor in North Carolina. Small handle chip. Two small chips on interior of rim and some additional small chips on interior where the dasher guide would rest. 7/8" rim chip on reverse. H 19".
