Scarce Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stamped "S.S. PERRY / TROY, " New York State origin, circa 1828-1833, two-gallon ovoid jar with tall collar and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed cobalt foliate design. Significant restoration visible on exterior and interior. Dryness to areas on surface. Some bubbling to cobalt. Cracks in underside, which have been restored on interior. Additional small hole on underside, which has been filled. H 11".
