Four-Gallon Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Churn, Southeastern U.S., late 19th century, cylindrical churn with rounded shoulder and tall collar, the shoulder fitted with applied lug handle on one side and an open strap handle on the reverse. Surface covered in a streaky brownish alkaline glaze. Incised "4" on shoulder. Mint condition. H 15 7/8".
