One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Clover Decoration and Impressed Star, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1860, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-squared rim, decorated front and back with cobalt two-stemmed clover design on the front and back. Impressed star on shoulder. Hairlines on underside, one of which extends onto base and runs approximately 8" horizontally. Rim chip. 1 1/2" separation on interior of rim. Small, in-the-firing base chip. H 10 1/4".
