Rare Large-Sized Stoneware Crock with Stenciled and Freehand Cobalt Floral Decorations, Stenciled "ENEIX / NEW GENEVA PA," circa 1875, approximately ten-gallon cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a freehand cobalt vine design extending across the front, and unusual vertical flowering vines flanking Eneix stenciling. Stenciled roses at base. A well-decorated example of New Geneva stoneware. Two salt drips on side and one on reverse. Spidering lines near base on reverse, which appear to be in-the-firing and do not extend through to interior. Contact mark with salt drip at base. Hairlines and an in-the-firing chip on underside. Handle chip. Small in-the-firing rim chip on reverse. H 21".
