Rare One-Gallon Stoneware Jug, Stamped "J. REMMEY / MANHATTAN-WELLS / NEW-YORK," circa 1810, ovoid jug with heavily-tooled neck and applied handle, decorated with cobalt highlights to the impressed mark and at the ends of the handle. Professional restoration to cracks which extend from spout to body of jug. Restoration includes touch-up to decoration at ends of handle. Sealed crack in underside. H 11 1/2".
