Rare One-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Incised Tulip Decoration, probably Ohio, second quarter 19th century, ovoid pitcher with short, flaring collar, and applied strap handle, decorated with an unusual incised tulip motif with X on interior of blossom. Incised details to leaves and X. Incised design filled with cobalt slip. Impressed "25" on underside. Chipped contact marks on right side of front, reverse, and handle. Contact mark and in-the-firing indentation to left side of pitcher. Small base chips. H 10 1/2".
