One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, probably James River Basin, VA origin, second quarter 19th century, ovoid jar with flattened rim and applied lug handles, decorated front and back with a brushed cobalt flower attached to a leafy stem. Brushed "1" under one handle. As-made condition. A glazed-over chip to one handle and a 1 3/4" vertical separation on interior of rim, which does not extend through to exterior. H 10".
