Rare One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, Stamped "CLARK & LUNDY / TROY," New York State origin, circa 1825-1826, highly ovoid jug with rounded spout and heavily-ribbed handle, decorated with a series of brushed cobalt leaves. The short-lived partnership of Clark and Lundy lasted between June of 1825 and March of 1826. Some fry to cobalt. Horizontal Y-shaped crack in upper handle terminal. 1" inverted Y-shaped line in spout. Some discoloration to surface. H 11 1/4".
