We are all looking forward to our Fall 2010 auction!Rare Miniature Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Churn, New York State origin, circa 1840, cylindrical vessel with slightly flared rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed cobalt flower on one side and a scalloped cobalt stripe on the reverse. Includes a 19th century stoneware churn lid with cobalt highlight, although it is likely not original to the churn. Also includes a wooden dasher. Rim chips to churn. Two pieces broken and reglued together at rim, measuring a total of 1 1/8" x 3/8". Lid with small chip to edge and larger chip to interior of rim. Faint 1/2" hairline from rim above one handle. H 4 5/8".
