Six-Quart Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Batter Pail, Stamped "EW FARRINGTON & Co / ELMIRA. N.Y.," circa 1890, ovoid form with tubular spout, handle at base on reverse, and clay ears with attached metal and wood bail handle, decorated on the reverse with a large brushed cobalt tulip. Restoration to spout and large area on reverse including much of clay handle, not affecting decoration. Large Y-shaped surface line, not visible on interior, on reverse near base. Approximately 2 1/2" hairline from rim on reverse. 3 3/4" crack on underside. H 9 1/2".
