Two Stoneware Advertising Jugs, American, late 19th or early 20th century, one a Bristol slip glazed stoneware shoulder jug featuring the advertising "THIS JUG / IS THE PROPERTY OF / SIGEL, COOPER CO., / N.Y. / AND IS LOANED / NOT SOLD." The second a brown-and-white jug, impressed "SHERWOOD BROS. POTTERY / NEW BRIGHTON, PA.," featuring the advertising, which reads "H.A. Johnson Co. / HEADQUARTERS FOR / BAKERS & CONFECTIONERS / SUPPLIES / BOSTON - - MASS." NY jug with heavy chipping to edge on shoulder, a small base nick, and a shoulder nick with some lines extending through it. Boston jug with 3/4" base chip with 1 1/2" line extending from it, 2" and 1 3/4" lines at base, and a few short lines and a flake on underside. H (of Boston jug) 11 3/4".
