Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stamped "C.E PHARIS & CO / GEDDES. NY," circa 1864-1867, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and applied lug handles, decorated with a large cobalt floral design with brushed blossom extending from a slip-trailed stem with curling leaves. Slip-trailed 2 with flourish to left of decoration. Some fry to cobalt. Handle chip. 2" area of faint lines on underside, with 1/2" line extending onto base. Minor rim nicks. H 11".
