Glazed Pottery Spaniel on Base, probably Ohio origin, late 19th or early 20th century, molded spaniel with gouged fur and incised face, seated on an oblong base with incised border and covered in a light brown glaze. Spaniel is composed of a light-weight reddish clay. Hollowed underside. Crack through base of dog, extending onto dog's body 1 3/4" on front and 2" on back. Restoration to right side of base. In-the-firing glaze flake to spot at left of dog's left eye. H 8".
